Pastor Joe has over 23 years of ministry experience. He has been part of ICS since it first found its home at Cornerstone Church in 2010. He serves alongside his wife Pastor Carolyn. Together they have dedicated their lives to equipping the next generation. Pastor Joe and Carolyn have three children, two of them graduated from Independence. Pastor Joe is always looking for opportunities to bring others alongside him in ministry, as well as the great outdoors.

Natalie Cisneros
Principal

Mrs. Cisneros or Mrs. C as she is known around ICS has been in education for over 15 years and has specialized in special education. Mrs. C loves to travel, spend time with family and watch sports. She has been married for over 20 years and has two children. Mrs. C has a great appreciation for families who value a private school Christian education and realizes what a blessing it can be. Her happy place is at the beach watching the sunset. She is a strong believer in Jesus and is so honored to be our Principal here at ICS.
Erin Compos

Mrs. Compos has been serving at ICS since 2008 and is proud that her children were students at ICS. Her title can be a bit long, but she is responsible for so much here at our school. She loves “to do lists” and definitely checks many off daily as she keeps our school moving forward in service to the Lord. In addition to handling the administrative needs of ICS, Mrs. Compos plans many of the fun activities as well, including Spirit Days, Field Day & Summer Day Camp! She has been married to her husband Ron for 27 years and enjoys reading and game nights with friends.

Miss Compos absolutely loves working with our youngest group of students and her specialty is hand print art for every season! In addition to teaching in our Preschool for the last three school years, Miss Compos attended ICS herself starting in First Grade.

Prior to teaching elementary school, Mrs. Scherer began her career in education as a preschool teacher. While she loved the little ones, she feels that she has found her home in the 4th grade class. When she isn’t in the classroom, Mrs. Scherer loves to travel. She has been to 13 countries and counting. Her high school sweetheart, now husband is her favorite travel companion. ICS is blessed to have a very grounded, creative and engaging 4th grade teacher.

Mrs. Yasbel has been teaching at ICS since 2015 and is proud to have been teaching children for over a decade. With a background in Early Childhood Education, she has spent time teaching each age group and watching the children grow academically and spiritually. Married for over eleven years, she has two children and loves camping with her family and a good cup of Joe. She and her daughter are often found in the kitchen baking together.
